Membership is by audition and is open to girls ages 9 to 18.

Auditions are held at the beginning of every semester (August and January) and membership is closed by September 1, and January 15. Columbus Girlchoir does not discriminate by race, religion, and creed.

Primary factors in deciding readiness for admission to the choirs are
as follows:
1. A pleasing voice and a good ear for music.
2. The ability to sing simple melodies on pitch, unaccompanied (Happy Birthday, Amazing Grace, My Country ‘tis of Thee).
3. Some knowledge of music fundamentals is preferred.
4. A desire to commit to attendance at the rehearsals and performances
